Solid Waste & Recycling Services
All residents of the City must use the solid waste removal company that the city provides to residents as described in Ordinance No. 581. The solid waste removal services are contracted through Brothers Disposal at a monthly rate of $25.70 per household. Additional trash containers are available for an additional cost of $10 per month. City Wide Trash and Recycle Pickup operates four days a week, Monday through Thursday. You can find your address’ collection day by CLICKING HERE and entering your address in the top right corner.
If any of the holidays listed below occur on a regularly scheduled service day, the service will be postponed until the next business day. When a holiday occurs during the week, any service days on and after the holiday will be delayed by one business day.
Example: If the holiday occurs on Monday; Monday collections will be delayed until Tuesday. Tuesday collections will then be delayed until Wednesday and so forth. Please reference the table below to find the day your trash and recycling will be retrieved.
*On weeks with a holiday, collections normally scheduled for pick up on Thursday will be delayed until Friday.

Please contact the City at 913-724-1370 if you have any trash questions, concerns, or problems pertaining to the trash/recycle containers or missed pickups. Trash stickers for trash overage can be purchased at City Hall.
Bills are mailed out at the end of each month for that month and are due by the 15th of the following month. If not paid by the 15th, a 10% penalty will be applied. Payments (check or money order only) can be mailed or placed in our drop box located in the city hall parking lot. The city of Basehor also accepts Visa, Mastercard, and Discover (processing fees will apply).
The City of Basehor DOES NOT accept cash.
The owner or renter of a residence must notify the City of any changes to their account (i.e.: for sale, renovation, stopping services, etc.). It is the owner or renter’s responsibility to notify the City of any changes. Failure to contact the City does not waive any balances or penalties. The City will use any means necessary to collect any balances due (i.e. collections or property tax rolls).
