Business Improvement Grant

The City of Basehor has budgeted for grants to be awarded to businesses located in City limits through the Business Improvement Grant (BIG). The program's goal is to support local businesses through funding to make:

• Exterior building repairs or façade improvements
• Replace legally non-conforming signs
• Increase landscaping specifically in areas adjacent to sidewalks
• Make ADA compliance improvements
• Make any improvements to the exterior of the business that makes the environment more pleasant for non-motorists

How Can I Use BIG Funding? 
Here are some ideas for your business! 

• Update the signs on the exterior of your building
• Add landscaping to your storefront
• Work with your business neighbors to make new group signage
• Add outdoor seating or engaging places for pedestrians
• Clean up your property 
• Enhance accessibly infrastructure and ensure ADA compliance
• Paint your building or any related structures
• Improve fencing, curbing, or retaining walls
• Add bicycle storage facilities
