Building & Safety Department

The Basehor Building and Safety Department assures the public’s health, safety, and welfare in the city’s built environment. The department reviews construction plans for building code compliance and engineering requirements. The Building and Safety Department regulates local and state laws related to building construction, maintenance, use, repair, and rehabilitation. The department also assists contractors and residents with their permit application submittals and conducts inspections throughout the construction process.

Contractor Licensing Requirements

The City of Basehor requires all contractors and subcontractors to be licensed through the Contactors Licensing Program of Johnson County. All contractors will be required to provide proof that you and your subcontractors are licensed through this program.

City Business License

The City of Basehor requires all persons, firms, or corporations conducting business within the city limits to obtain a city business license prior to operation.
