City-Wide Trash / Recycle Pickup

Pickup Schedule
City Wide Trash / Recycle Pickup is on Wednesdays, be sure to have tour carts out by 6 a.m. on the service day.
Trash pickup will be delayed to Thursday pickup during the week if any of the holidays listed on the back of the bill card (listed below as well) fall on a Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday. Please check the website calendar or call Basehor City Hall if you are unsure.
New Year's Day
Memorial Day
Independence Day (July 4th)
Labor Day
Christmas Day
Please contact the City if you have any trash questions, concerns, or problems pertaining to the trash/recycle containers or missed pickups. Trash stickers for trash overage can be purchased at City Hall.
Solid Waste Collection / Single Stream Curbside Recycling Services
All residents of the City must use the solid waste removal company that the city provides to residents. The solid waste removal services are contracted through Waste Management at a monthly rate of $17.72 per household. Additional solid waste containers are available for an additional cost of $8.55 per month. The Private Hauler permit is no longer available and residents are now required to subscribe to city-contracted services. (Ordinance No. 581)
Payments
Bills are mailed out at the end of each month for that month and are due by the 15th of the following month. If not paid by the 15th, a delinquent fee of 10% will be added. Payments (check or money order only) can be mailed or placed in our drop box located in the city hall parking lot. The city of Basehor also accepts Visa, Mastercard, and Discover (processing fees will apply).
The City of Basehor does not accept cash.
Vacancy / Stopping Services
The owner or renter of a residence must notify the City of any changes to their account (i.e.: for sale, renovation, stopping services, etc.) it is the owner or renter’s responsibility to notify the City.
Failure to contact the City does not waive any balances or penalties. The City will use any means necessary to collect any balances due (i.e. collections or property tax rolls)*
